UW River Falls conferred more than 800 degree to students in two different ceremonies Saturday, May 12 -- one at 9 a.m. and one at 2 p.m. -- in the Knowles Center.

Local man Dana Pruitt, a custodian for 10 years at Westside Elementary, recently decided to start collecting discarded baby cribs and toddler beds, then fixing them for the needy.
Seven year-old Christian Nelson of River Falls is all smiles as he shows off his limit of five trout he caught while fishing with his parents Dave and Dorothy, on the Kinnickinnic River for opening day of the statewide fishing season Saturday. Nelson’s longest fish measured 14 ½-inches long. He said it’s the second straight year he has “outfished” his mom and dad on the opener.
